The Importance of Performing Skin Analysis Before Any Skin Treatment

This is the area that many new comers overlook and hasten towards the treatment creams, packs and various rubbing techniques. Of course, these treatments are important in cosmetology but it is of great importance to learn to diagnose what the skin requires. If not, even the best creams or masks are used in vain. This habit of spending some time over the skin before treatment develops the habit of giving proper treatment instead of guessing at something.

First start identifying the basic signs of the skin. Come and stand near a window in natural light. Look carefully into the face, ensuring it is free of any make up or cream. Try to observe the shine over the forehead or nose, the dryness over the cheeks or some parts of the skin which do not appear to be in uniform texture. Gently place your fingers over the face and observe how the skin feels. You may feel some parts smooth and some other parts a bit rough or pulled up. This observation period helps you develop the practice of observing the changes in the skin that would have otherwise remained unnoticed while spending time in applying creams and packs over the face.

When the beginner applies heavy moisturizing creams over the face, the oily T-zone of the face gets greasier while the dry areas remain with the same dryness. The best way is to treat each area of the face separately. If the forehead appears oily, apply lighter moisturizing creams over the area and if the cheek area is dry, apply rich moisturizing cream only over the cheek area. This differentiates the regular skin care routine into a professional skin care treatment. This does not require any special instruments to develop.

As a routine practice spend about 15 minutes every day over the skin to develop this habit. Clean the face, pat dry it and spend some time before the mirror observing the skin for any redness, shine and dryness. Later apply the creams slowly to observe how the skin is responding to it. Observe if the skin absorbs the cream completely or remains shining with the cream applied over it.

This practice of observation and treatment develops the habit of observing the changes in the skin and performing the right treatment for the right skin. As days pass, this becomes a habit for you to observe these changes. The eyes start observing the minor changes in the skin color and texture and the fingers become sensitive enough to identify the skin texture. The ambiguities in the skin become clear and the subsequent treatments like facial massage, packs and scrubs that you perform become more relevant and effective.
